Write for us

We welcome pitches from writers who can make a food subject precise, engaging and useful to a general reader. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to understand the idea before considering a full draft.

What we welcome

Pitch clear explanations of ingredients, cooking methods, food histories, meals or kitchen craft. A strong idea has a defined question, a distinct angle and a reason readers would care. We favour evergreen subjects that can be handled carefully without unsupported claims or specialist advice.

What to include

Use the Contact page to send a working title, a short summary, the intended category and a few lines about the material or approach you would use. Mention any relevant experience or interests, but do not send confidential information. Tell us if the idea has been proposed or published elsewhere.

Before you send

Keep the pitch focused: one central idea is easier to assess than a list of possible topics. We look for accurate, original work with cultural context and clear distinctions between established information, personal observation and opinion. A pitch is a proposal, not a commission; wait for a response before writing a full piece.
